Design Porn: Aria Chest of Drawers
I desperately want this chest of drawers. I don't care if it's £2350 from Aria (and apparently it's not a chest of drawers, it's a chiffoniere - isn't that fancy?) Whatever you want to call it, I want it. To keep shoes in or something. I don't know if it's the sexy French shape, the black lacquer (I'm all about black lacquer at the moment) or the fun coloured drawers, but I might not see a prettier chest of drawers all year. My shoes would be very happy in here. This is the kind of furniture that's so sexy I start to sigh and plot doomed-from-the-start "get rich quick" schemes.
Can someone lend me £2350 please?
*Swoon*

This would be perfect for my many MANY pairs of tights, general underwear and the dozens of 50s, 60s and 70s vintage cocktail and driving gloves my Gran left me. I think I need it!
ReplyDeleteBut you're asking the wrong question - try "can someone GIVE me £2350", then you don't have to pay it back! :D
Oh! Oh! I love it so much I'm not far off recreating the 'When Harry Met Sally' cafeteria scene.
ReplyDeleteNow I need to find some rich friends to buy it for me for Christmas.
Where do millionaires hang out?
So pleased you like it ladies, I don't think you're meant to keep shoes in it, but I will.
ReplyDeleteI saw something *just* like this in an antiques hall at the weekend. Well, it was a beautiful chinese medicine cabinet actually, but I adored the multi-drawer idea. Damn. Should have bidded, now I want it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, it is actually exquisite. But that price tag...ouch ouch ouch! Just a thought - one that would probably end in DIY disaster - but would it not be possible to get an old bashed-up chest of drawers similar to this, and just be creative with paints and drawer knobs???
ReplyDeleteIf you could find a fancy shaped chest like this, I reckon you could do it. But I think you'd be hard pushed to get the project done for under £600. Still, that's a saving of about £2000. And lots of fun too.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have £600 they can give me?
I have one and I love it. I got it a couple of years back for 1000 (free delivery and the dealer let me pay in 2 installments). He now reckons it would retail at easily 3K. I store lingerie, jewellery, hosiery and saris in it.
