Fifties Floral at Graham & Green

I'm not a fan of the chintzy sofas. Don't get me wrong, I love florals. But just in small doses. Done well. And I'm not sure that throwing flowers over a sofa is ever a good idea. It's a pretty bold thing to do in a room. Everything else you put in there has to compliment, and that's not an easy look to pull off.

But, these fifities floral cushions from Graham & Green are perfect (starting at £29). They nod to the floral trend without being over powering. You can still decorate your room in whatever colour you like (although a pink would work very well) and mix and match with other cushions. These are the most boyfriend-friendly florals you'll ever find.

New Hairpieces from Rock 'n' Rose

As much as I love a good fascinator, they're not very easy to wear, are they? You're all of a sudden very dressed up. I'd love a fascinator that makes my outfit look a little bit prettier, without looking like I'm going to a wedding. These feather headpieces from Rock 'n' Rose are unique, but they're subtle as well. Perfect for the afternoon tea I've got booked for tomorrow. You'll look fancy, without the fuss.

Shop in the spotlight: Showpony

Showpony is so much fun. Nothing but simple designs on organic cotton. The range is designed by Emma Henderson who graduated from Glasgow School of Design. There's been a bit of a buzz around Glasgow recently. If it's not us writing about their teashops, it's Wee Birdy taking a little holiday there. I love Showpony, and all of the little touches that Emma adds to her screen prints. Take a look:

This is such a cute little purse. I'm amazed it's only £10. Comes in lots of other colours too.

Think this cushion is all cute and lovely? Well, it is, obviously. But hidden under those little pleats are bugs and spiders and creepy crawlies! Cushions are £60, but there's lots of things to choose from in the Hidden Place range.

Want to carry a cute vintage bag? But still need something to carry all of your books in? This vintage shopper bag is perfect. It's a bargainous £12.

Anusha Jumpsuit

I never thought I'd recommend a jumpsuit. Not ever. Most of the time, they're really rather unflattering, aren't they? (And can we please stop with the harem jumpsuit?) But then I spotted this one from Anusha and it's just gorgeous. It's lightweight, flattering and unusual. The purple colour is stunning, so much more interesting than black. And considering you're covered up, it's very very sexy. I adore this. It's Anusha's bestseller, and it's easy to see why. Definitely worth the £145 price tag. I'd live in this.

Folksy Find: Kirsty Elson Love Birds

Ick. Valentine's day is just around the corner (at least that's what all the press releases keep telling me). But this doesn't mean all things sluttery will be ablaze with hearts and bright red! Oh no! Because, well, we do enough of the romantic anyway, don't you think? I'm not with the whole 'let's be romantic for a day and then forget all about it' thing. I am in favour of buying pretty things just for me, because I want them. Like these little love birds from Kirsty Elson on Folksy.

See? They're a bit romantic, but mostly cool. They're £25 too, which is a bit of a Folksy bargain.

The artful jammy dodger

If I'm a bit stuck for creative inspiration, I usually reach for the biscuits. I know this is always a hot topic for discussion but my personal favourite, especially on really rubbish days, is the crumbly texture and the cheerful red splodge of a jammy dodger.

And it looks like I'm not the only one. Judging by the crop of products inspired by this humble biscuit, it's clear it provides not only valuable sugary nutrients but food for thought too.

If you're looking for to wear your jammy heart on your sleeve, how about this brooch from Homemade which costs just £5? It's made from hand-painted clay and it looks so realistic, I'd be a bit worried I'd be tempted to eat it.

One way of getting round that potential embarrassment is the keepsake pot by Richard Archard. Made from ceramic and shaped like a jammy dodger, it literally allows you to take the biscuit. It's hinged to open and exactly sized to fit the biscuit inside. Perfect for jammy emergencies when you're on the move. Buy it for £18 from Dollydagger.

What do you want with a tasty biscuit? A nice cup of tea of course. Step forward the Duncan mug available from Hygge. When you get to the bottom of your drink you'll find a ceramic version of your favourite biscuit. It costs £13.50 and, for those who would prefer to dodge the dodger, you can also get it featuring a custard cream or a bit of shortbread.

And where to put your cup of tea? Obviously on a lovely jammy dodger coaster! Beautifully hand-printed by Solitaire, £16 gets you a set of six (the set also includes two chocolate cream and two tea biscuit coasters).

Time to raid the biscuit tin ...

Blogs We Love: Home Shopping Spy

Home Shopping Spy is a little bit like Ideal Home's naughty little sister. It's run by Ellie Tennant, and whilst I love Ideal Home Magazine, it's not my favourite interiors glossy (that award goes to Living Etc). But Home Shopping Spy is fabulous.

I spend an awful lot of time hunting about for extra special things. But Home Shopping Spy take this to a whole other level, showing you fabulous ways to style your home, with simple things that you wouldn't even have considered. Like the wall of mirrors in that photo. How pretty does that look?

If you're looking for unusual ways to update your home with stuff that doesn't cost the earth, Home Shopping Spy should be your next stop. After a nose about the Domestic Sluttery archives, of course.
