At an event last week, I found myself sipping a rose martini. Not something I'm usually a fan of (I think you know by now I prefer to wear things that smell of flowers, not drink them) but this one had a rose petal in it, and it was a very pretty pink colour so I was won over slightly. So I thought I'd have a bash at making one myself. And actually, they're pretty easy. You'll need these things:
- 50ml gin
- 25ml vodka
- 5 drops rosewater
- Rose petals
Shake everything together over ice, strain and pour into a martini glass and place a rose petal on the top of the drink. The more you shake the cocktail, the paler the drink will be. If you just want a hint of rose, lessen the amount of rosewater. Don't try adding more gin, it doesn't work as well as you'd think, you big lush.
