Pin Up Girl Towels - A Bit Of Glam In The Bathroom

Towels are not really all that glamorous. Pin up girls however are so when you combine the two then you get these fabulous embroidered Pin Up Girl hand towels by Kathy Steig.

The glam doesn't stop at your hands though. There are four bath towels with different pin up girls on to help complete the set. Seeing as I love the whole pin up style, I'm so very tempted to get all of them!

Hand towels currently on sale for $15, bath towels $30 at Shana Logic.

Storage solution: Patterned Shoeboxes by Berry Red

Having shoes strewn across my room is a pretty common sight at Domestic Sluttery HQ. Even though I'm pretty good keeping all of the shoes boxes at the bottom of my wardrobe, most of the time I never get around to putting anything in them.

These pretty patterned shoe boxes might put a stop to all that. Look! They've even got see-thru panels so you can find those peep-toes easily. Very handy and much prettier than those dull plastic ones you can buy.

They're £15 each from Berry Red, and if you have lots, you'll be much tidier and neater, won't you? Maybe not, but they'll also make great keepsake boxes too.

Etsy Pick: Jayne from Firefly's Cunning Hat!

Now, depending on whether you were a fan of Joss Whedon's brilliant but ill-fated show Firefly, you're either going to respond to the picture above by saying "huh?", or by jumping up and down in your seat squealing, "ohmigodohmigod!"

Assuming that, like me, you're in the latter camp - yes - this is a replica of the very fine "cunning hat" Jayne receives from his mother during the series.

For $25 credits, I mean USD, Ma Cobb will lovingly knit you this hat custom-made to your head size and send it to you nestled comfortably in straw, in a box with a handwritten letter (THAT handwritten letter) "to keep you warm in your travels".

So if you are a Browncoat - or you know one whose birthday is coming up - get down to Ma Cobb's Hat Shoppe today. I recently got one for a Browncoat friend of mine, and it was very well received.

And just for ultra-squee value, here's Ma Cobb with the mighty Jayne (actor Adam Baldwin) himself:
Time for some thrilling heroics.

Free Ben and Jerry's! Free Cone Day!

Free ice cream! Yummy! Tasty icey goodness! It's Ben & Jerry's free cone day, which aside from Christmas is just about the best day ever. Really. BEST DAY EVER. Here's what you do:
  • Go to Ben & Jerry's.
  • Moan about the queue being really long.
  • Get yourself some tasty ice cream.
  • Don't pay a penny - it's free!
  • Eat tasty ice cream.
  • Contemplate doing it all over again, even thought you're a bit full up.
You've got from 12 - 8pm to get there and get your tasty treats. I reckon most places will run out by 7, but that will be because I'm going to run around London going to all of the branches I can find.

I heart Ben & Jerry's right now. Even if I haven't quite forgiven them for discontinuing their Apple Pie flavour.

Heaven Scent: The White Company Seychelles Gift Set

There's something about The White Company that reminds me of illicit hotel rendezvous and all kinds of fun. There's something very classy about the fragrances and the smell last for ages. It's certainly better than using Radox.

This gift set is only £30, and considering it'll make you smell all lovely and expensive, that's a small price to pay. There's even a candle to make the rest of your home smell as lovely as you do.

Design Porn: Jo Heckett

Last week we were all about the bold stuff and the showy furniture. This week, I'm enjoying all the little things. So I got rather excited when I came across porcelain designer Jo Heckett. She's managed to make fridge magnets cool. Take a look:

Pretty, tiny, perfect.

Sweet heart cup and saucer: Colloco

If you're going to decorate with anything heart-shaped, then you've got to make sure that you do it properly, otherwise your house will look like a six year-old girls bedroom. And that is not a good look. So stick to clean and simple and use sparingly. Something like this Colloco heart cup and saucer should do the trick. It's only £15 too. I want to drink tea from this. It's pretty.
