Time for tea

If I had £302.45 I'd definitely be spending it on this amazing limited edition clock from Umbra at Amaroni Homeware.

I'm not-so-secretly hoping that someone comes up with a more affordable version as it is rather stunning. There is part of me thinks that let loose with some MDF, a pot of black paint, some super-glue and 12 vintage tea cups and saucers I might be able to knock one up myself in a Blue Peter stylee. One to pop onto the 'when I win the lottery...' list methinks. Until then I will just have to lust after it instead!

  1. Did *anyone* actually make a Tracey Island? I got bored once you needed five loo rolls by Friday and I only had three...

  2. I think the same thing happened to me. It was always 'stuff you will have lying around the house' but your mum had NEVER finished with the washing up bottle in time and more to the point, I don't know anyone (then and indeed now) who happens to have a ton of sticky backed plastic or double sided sticky tape in the house! I wanted to make one though...!

  3. psst.... sticky backed plastic is just Sellotape.

  4. I always thought sticky-backed plastic was that stuff we had to cover our school textbooks with at the start of term - a bit like sellotape, but, y'know, bigger.

I have similar 'Blue Peter' thoughts about all sorts of things - last one was the 'box of butterflies' post. Very pretty, but £200-odd? Surely I could make that myself?

There's the high probability it wouldn't look nearly as pretty though...

  5. Yes, I thought that too Kate! Good analogy - I was trying to think of what I had thought it was and that's exactly what it was - school book cover stuff! Maybe we should have a 'Domestic Sluttery does....' and come up with cheaper 'homages' to super-dooper-uber-expensive-stuff. Minus lawsuits. Obviously.

  10. What a fab idea.

If only I had a creative bone in my body I'd be so much richer!
