After popping into Selfridges on Saturday (and only spending 95p - how proud are you?) my friend and I realised we needed a bottle of wine or something for a party we were going to. Instead we found ourselves in the baking section eyeing up the macarons. But when the macarons failed us (really Selfridges, your macaron selection is rubbish), we found ourselves in front of some really yummy looking cookies.
Cookies aren't the most glam of things, are they? They're not nearly as pretty as cupcakes and they're all too often ignored. But then I stumbled across Sobo Chocolate And I can't remember the last time I had such yummy cookies. All sorts of flavours from chocolate to hazelnut, there's nothing outlandish about these. They're just simple cookies. And well, they're fantastic.
We munched our way through them on Saturday (four large cookies for a fiver) and the chocolate ones were the firm favourite for me. They use real ingredients and they don't try to reinvent the wheel. Just pure, simple cookies that will be gone in a matter of minutes.
You can buy Sobo cookies in Selfridges Food Hall, but they've got heaps of other locations too. Check them out here.
