Win! National Chocolate Week: Chocolates for Chocoholics Collection Box
Yay! More chocolate to share! This time it's the turn of Chocolates for Chocoholics who have kindly given us a very pretty box of chocolates! Look at the box! Isn't it lovely?! Their Exquisite Collection is full of yummy goodies ranging from classic soft centres to brilliant dessert-based treats. Yummy!
We've got one box to giveaway today. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us what dessert you'd like to see immortalised in a chocolate. We can't promise that it'll be in the box, but we'll pick the best answer and that person will win the chocolates! (Of course if lots of you pick the same answer we'll have to pick out of the hat, but please try and be original!) No extra entries for re-tweeting, but we'll be your best friends instead.
You've got until 4.30 today to get your comment up on the post (they're timed so if you're too late, we'll know!) and we'll announce the winner shortly after. Good luck!
The small print: The competition will close at 4.30pm 13th October. Please don't shout at us if you don't win, there's more competitions tomorrow, and the day after. All week in fact. The winner must live in the UK as well, sorry overseas readers. We're not allowed to enter our own competitions, but if we were allowed, we'd like apple pie flavoured chocs. We wish we could enter own own competitions. Humph.
banofeepie.. I make it with an oreo cookie base.. family loves it.. two slices left in the fridge .. any takers...
ReplyDeleteWhat about Sausage Roll. Would be quite like a Croissant. Ummmm Yum Yum
ReplyDeleteMy favourite pudding is sticky toffee pudding (preferably with lots of custard!) and I'd love to see this as a chocolate - yum yum!
ReplyDeletei'd like to see apple crumble immortalised in chocolate - its one of my fave desserts and with the added delight of chocolate.....it'll be divine! Mmmmm! mouths watering already! lol x
ReplyDeleteSome sort of Artic Roll chocolate. Retro-tastic! Sure, it's be like a slice of a mini roll but it'd be thick chocolate, thin later of sponge, raspberry goo then the centre would be whippy white chocolate truffle instead of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteHard to choose just one dessert, but I think it has to be jam roly poly...
ReplyDeleteI make a mean Baileys and white chocolate cheesecake, which tastes wonderful (even if I do say so myself!) Would be great to try it in chocolate form - less calories than a full slice!
ReplyDeleteWell, perfectly for this time of year, I would have an autumn berries crumble with custard - how could that not be enhanced by being wrapped in a chocolate?
ReplyDeleteMaggie
xx
Hard choice, think it would have to be Lemon cheesecake, digestive biscuit base, lemony stuff and obviously lots of chocolate and on top of that maybe some white chocolate shavings mmmm.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be a brownie cupcake immortalised in chocolate - that looks like a mini cupcake too perhaps with a mini cherry on the top (I don't ask for much!)
ReplyDeleteoooh, stickydate pudding! i dont know how the cakey pudding would go all wrapped up in chocolate, but thats for the chocolatier to sort out!
ReplyDeletebanana and cream mmmm think i might have some now .
ReplyDeleteBaked alaska wrapped in chocolate; you'd have to keep it in the freezer, or serve it very quickly, but it'd be worth it. Chocolate spone, chocolate (or Baileys) ice cream in the middle, and a little meringue, all coated in chocolate.
ReplyDeleteKnickerbocker Glory - that would be one BIG chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI make a pretty mean white chocolate and ginger cheesecake. Which, if translated into a chocolate, would probably be bits of ginger biscuit base squished up with white chocolate truffley stuff, encased in white chocolate. Must be quite ginger-y though, so maybe chuck in some crystallised ginger. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteSticky toffee pudding, and it would have to have a gooey toffee sauce liquid centre - Mmmmm
ReplyDeleteYum, I think a Red Fruits Laduree Macaroon would be amazing immortalised in chocolate!
ReplyDeleteStrawberries in balsamic vinegar with black pepper. The sourness and the sweetness together with a really hefty dark chocolate and a little bit of heat from the pepper. It would be a dream.
ReplyDeleteDeath by Chocolate would be my ideal pudding made even more chocolatey! Hopefully it won't kill me.
ReplyDeleteEton Mess...mmmmmm :)
ReplyDeleteEton Mess - a white chocolate shell, filled with a rich strawberry mousse with a hint of champagne and little crispy bits of meringue. Heavenly!
ReplyDeletei love lemon cheesecake so would have the base mixed with chocolate chunks then immortalised with milk chocolate! maybe the spoon could be made of chocolate also!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry or Raspberry Cheesecake
ReplyDelete@grannysmither on twitter
My favourite pud is ginger snaps filled with lovely fresh cream and a drizzle of toffee sauce - all that translated into a chocolate would be fab.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be the White Chocolate cheesecake, as per the recipe on this very site. Lush
ReplyDeletexx
mmmm.... bananas and custard in chocolate...mmmmm.......
ReplyDeleteFrozen Chocolate-Covered Cappuccino Crunch Cake...Oh yes. NOM NOM!
ReplyDeleteLemon Merange pie - the soft lemony centre, the melting merange all wrapped up in lucious dark velvety chocolate. mmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteChocolate profiteroles!
ReplyDeleteYum yum yum!
Mango sorbet - I'd love it in a dark chocolate, with a few small pieces of mango left whole inside, to add a bit of chewiness. And perhaps a sprig of mango on the top too.
ReplyDeleteHow about raspberry and chocolate pavlova?
ReplyDeleteProfitteroles yummuyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy covered in hot choc ,lovely fresh cream ohhhhhhh the taste yummmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy
ReplyDeletePecan Pie with Maple Syrup drizzle (I like extra calories drizzled on top!) That incased in a mini chocolate cupcake surround with a pecan on top- lovely
ReplyDeletePecan pie flavour - pecan nuts and sticky caramel... mmmm!
ReplyDeleteHaha, that just proves I didn't read anyone elses answers b4 entering! lol ^^ x
ReplyDeletemy fave pudding is home made spotted dick & custard - if I'm feeling special I'll have cream tooo ........ ooooh now I need pudding & its not even lunch time!
ReplyDeleteSxxx
Arctic roll.
ReplyDeleteChocolate on the outside, then the sponge, then the jam then beautiful ice cream!
Cinnamon Waffle Crunch. A milk chocolate with a soft cinnamon praline filled with little bits of crunchy pancake.
ReplyDeleteIt can be only chocolate fudge cake! classic and oh so tasty
ReplyDeleteI've never met a dessert I didn't like - I love all things sweet so as long as it's made by someone else...
ReplyDelete...I'll take it.
A Rocky Road dessert! Yes please.
ReplyDelete@CostleyS
I'm going to harken back to my childhood and wish for Dairy Queen's peanut buster parfait. Triple layered with smooth almost liquidy fudge salted peanuts and a creamy White goodness to represent the fluffy ice cream. That would be heaven. And much easier to send over from north America then ice cream and hot fudge.
ReplyDeleteSomething simple, like chocolate orange layered cheesecake. With white chocolate and sugar dusting. Mmm. Yeahhhh.
ReplyDeleteGot to be jam roly poly and custard to remind me of my childhood when you were allowed to eat suet without feeling guilty! Sounds like a Blumenthal challenge to me. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see lemon meringue immortalised in chocolate - lovely
ReplyDelete(jenniwren12)
Sounds gross, but my favourite dessert is rice pudding so I'm going to say that. Yum, the creamy loveliness...
ReplyDeleteMy nan used to make the best rice pudding ever. Not sure how it would work in a chocolate though...
tiramisu, please!
ReplyDeleteor, staying on the coffee theme, coffee cheesecake (have a wicked recipe if you want it!)
Definitely mince pie flavour please -with a little dash of brandy butter. Yum
ReplyDeleteI would like to see the Sahara dessert smothered in chocolate. Failing that, the Gobi.
ReplyDeleteDo I win?
The ultimate, delicious, crowd-pleasing dessert has got to be creme brulee! If they could immortalise the way a perfect creme brulee's glossy brown shell cracks with a satisfying noise to reveal gorgeous vanilla-scented, smooth mouth-coating creaminess, I'd be in gustatory heaven.
ReplyDeleteSpotted Dick! Just because it would be so funny!!! ;) hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteEves pudding... a bit of sponge, a bit of fruit all surrounded by a white chocolate custardy ganache with crumbly delicious crumbs on top! mmmm. now i wish this existed as i want a whole box of them!
ReplyDeleteApple and Rhubarb crumble!
ReplyDeleteNo other desert reminds me more of my childhood. When I wasn't busy making mud pies or love potions from stewed weeds, I would help my mum pick apples and rhubard from my back garden in preperation for the best homely desert- Apple and Rhubarb crumble. In chocolate it would make the ultimate sweet and slightly tangy of chocolate yums. With both vegetable and fruit inside the chocolate casing, you could justify a few more than you should perhaps get your mitts on! Crumbliness, delicious sugary fruit, perfect smooth chocolateness...
mmmmm yes please!
Christmas Pudding or rum & raisin ice cream ~ cant decide!
ReplyDeleteThe Gingerbread Man. Because he's always happy :)
ReplyDelete- @Sweena
I would like to have 'jaffamisu' please.... a magical twist on tiramisu - you replace the coffee and amaretto/marsala with cointreau and the spongey base is jaffa cakes. This with the marscapone and cream topping cased inside some yummy chocolate with some candied orange peel curls on top - divine!!
ReplyDeleteIt has to be treacle tart with cornish clotted cream - the more calorific the better - isn't that what puds are all about?
ReplyDeleteCreme brulee with flaked chocolate melting on top....
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish this could come true, mine would be lemon tarte with a kiwi sorbet and meringe. If this was embodied in chocolate, I would know I was in heaven.
ReplyDeletea lovely creamy pumpkin pie choc would be rather special!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a pumpkin pie chocolate!
ReplyDeleteHas to be pears poached in port (port-poached-pears?) Why? ummm, alcohol plus dark chocolate = happiness. Also, if you had a proper binge, that'd be one of your five a day! There's just no down side.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite dessert is triple chocolate torte (white, milk and dark) with cruncy hazelnut praline running through it alongside forest berry coulis. Creamy, chocolaty and some sourness to counteract the first two.
ReplyDeleteHas Black Forest Gateau been suggested? Either that or bakewell tart... or battenburg.
ReplyDeleteBasically: cake.
(written by a bloke.. if I win it'll be a nice surprise for my beloved wife ;)
Now I want cake...
Poached plums in port & cinnamon.
ReplyDeletePerfect for this autumnal time of year, my recipe is similar to this: http://tinyurl.com/yguz75r
It would be divine in chocolate.
Umm, can I say the desert trolley?
ReplyDeleteChristmas pudding with brandy sauce... mmmmmmm. Just imagine the chocolate cracking and then the soft, puddingy goodness on the inside!
ReplyDeleteWhat about a chocolate trifle - chocolate mini rolls for the base, steeped in some Kahlua liquor, chocolate blancmange for the comfort food version or a delicate white chocolate mousse for a posh version instead of jelly, and chocolate custard topping with white and dark chocolate curls and maltesers for decoration. Oooh but you couldn't eat more than a bucketful without feeling sick!
ReplyDeleteGot to be apple crumble and whipped cream. It could have a white chocolate outside and then gooey apple goodness on the inside.
ReplyDeleteso much for being good today - looking at all the entries has left me reaching for my emergency chocolate rations!
ReplyDeleteMy pick would have to be something similar to an amazing desert I had over the weekend, an Italian Cherry liqeur poured over ice cream.
Right, I'm off to bake chocolate and cherry brandy cupcakes to get my fix!
it has to be peaches & cream! Yum!
ReplyDeleteAnd if it helps ,if I win I'm going to raffle off the chocs for charity http://original.justgiving.com/chinesewhispers/ and my blog is http://charitychinesewhispers.blogspot.com/
Thanks!
I'm going to go for a retro-tastic Black Forest Gateau.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine a plump black cherry soaked in kirsch, and surrounded by a soft chocolate mousse to represent the sponge. Smother that in deep dark chocolate, and add a drop of vanilla flavoured white chocolate on top to represent the cream. Dust the whole thing in cocoa, and I think that has to be the yummiest dessert-based chocolate imaginable!
Key Lime Pie truffle.
ReplyDeleteThe centre would be a nugget of buttery graham cracker 'base', surrounded by a lime flavoured fondant, dipped into dark chocolate (with high cacao content, of course, served slightly chilled with a tiny segment of jellied lime at its crown. Yum!
Really tough to pick one - but I think it would have to be Pecan Pie - yummmy! xx
ReplyDelete(cookinmummy on twitter)
i think i would have to choose carrot cake please
ReplyDelete(sbroadhurst on twitter)
creme brulee - some sort of chocolate filled with creamy custardy stuff and with crispy burnt caramel bits.
ReplyDeletein fact, a full size creme brulee but in a chocolate cup instead of a ramekin? that would be so ace.
It has to be a really yummy pud in Caramel Apple Betty. A pastry case filled with layers of apple and lashings of caramel, served hot with ice cream. I love it. x
ReplyDeleteThat's it! No more entries!
ReplyDeleteBanoffee pie all the way!
ReplyDeleteOh no it wouldn't let me submit my entry and now I'm late. If I'm not late my answer is scrummy refreshing apple sorbet! Yummmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteCheesecake! Simples!
ReplyDeleteLooks so good.
ReplyDeleteclootie dumpling flavour
ReplyDeleteI know the compitition is over LAST YEAR :) BUT I just had to chime in! Norman Love Confections has the best chocolate!!! Check it out at http://www.NormanLoveConfections.com - The Passion Fruit Falvor is the BOMB!
ReplyDeleteNew York style vanilla cheesecake all the way!
