RSVP the traditional way

I might love my little Macbook (enough to have a name for her) and I'm very much an internet lover obsessive. But when it comes to stationery, I'm very much a traditionalist. Hand-written letters, little notes to friends and postcards are all wonderful things in my book. And all a dying art.

Then I stumbled across Imperial Telegrams and my heart skipped a beat. Can't make your friend's wedding? Someone you know back home just had a baby? If there's a special event you wish you could attend, a text message shouldn't be your RSVP. Not if you want another invite ever again anyway. Instead, fill out a vintage telegram and for a tenner, Imperial will post it. Complete with vintage postmark. Some traditions are definitely worth keeping.

  3. I love that, so much. Such a beautiful design, I love that it's vintage and typed that way. I'll definitely remember this for the future! Ace.

  4. Deffo needs the STOP, it's not a telegram without it! Just like in the Sound of Music.

  5. It has the stops if you want it! This is very much an example. You can put the stops in or just write a message :-)

  6. I just sent one to my Auntie. Absolutely adorable. £10 is a little bit expensive...but I suppose once you buy a cute card and post that, it can be £5...and it's definitely worth the £5 extra for the vintage/design factor. Well done for finding this!

  7. Aaargh, having just ordered one yesterday (see above), I got contacted my PayPal to say that my money had been refunded because Imperial Telegrams are now only available at Not on the High Street.com. And on there you have to pay extra if you want a completely individualised message... But they now have the STOPS included which will make you girls happy!
