Design Porn: Hot water bottle covers

A hot water bottle really is the only sensible solution to a cold bed. Leaving the heating on overnight poses all kinds of problems and socks in bed is frankly too much sluttery even for us...

Aside from their obvious practical benefits, the great thing about hotties is that you can dress them up. We love grey woolen cover with polkadot heart (top left), £10 from Cancer Research, red cotton tie cover, £10 from Cabbages & Roses and this adorable 'Bambi' cover, which is £16.99 at Amazon

Go for classic, hand knitted luxury with this prim and pretty cream cable knit cover from Not Mass Produced. It's sold as a set with a matching cushion cover, which bumps the price up to £40, but both would make charming additions to your home.

Finally, I couldn't resist picking out this hottie cover, which carries a message I can see being applicable on many occasions. Let's hope there aren't too many of them in the coming year! It's £9.95 at Dotcom Giftshop

  1. Love these (and your site by the way I'm a regular reader and buyer of the things you post). My favourite is the one with the reindeer. Methinks I need one of those.

  4. I do like that cable knit one - shame it only comes as part of a set as I have to say that the cushion looks like a not-so-good handmade attempt at using an old jumper!

    Sorry, I'll get my coat......

  5. Actually, GrumpyTart, I'm inclined to agree. The hot water bottle cover is lovely, but I'm not too keen on the cushion!

  6. I was vastly dissapointed when I came across this article after googling "pornographic hot water bottle cover". Shame!
