All the 70s folk style birds that are around at the moment really send my heart aflutter. I seem to have found a kindred spirit in Australian freelance illustrator and designer, Naomi Murrell. Her
Etsy shop is stuffed full of the little creatures, winging their way across cards, prints and jewellery. Click on the site and you'll see what I mean - she's even used them in her logo.
Her hand letter pressed
note cards are an easy way to feed a bird addiction. They're only $5.50 USD each or you can get them as a five pack. Remember you'll need to pay shipping fees to get this bird in your hand, an additional $4.30 for sending from Australia.
I want to decorate my nest with this
Flock silk screen print. It's the unashamedly girlie combo of the doves and hearts, plus the love slogan, all topped off with the red and pink colour scheme that does it for me. Flock to it and buy it unframed for $55.
And finally, something Murrell describes herself as a new take on a old classic. Here's our feathered friend again, this time in the form of a sterling silver
brooch. It's both small (measuring roughly 32mm x 32mm) and perfectly formed, with its cut-out flower pattern. It's pricier at $120 but a worthwhile investment if you want to be the prettiest bird for miles around.
