I can't work out whether I love or hate this teddybear lamp. He's £80 from Suck UK, and it's certainly a novel idea that I've not seen done before. A cuddly yet headless teddybear topped with a light fixture and lampshade, there's something weirdly wonderful about it.
But at the same time, he seems like a rather macabre addition to a bedside table. Sort of like those kids at school who used to mutilate all their toys, and which you'd only find out about when you when round to their house for tea and felt a bit awkward once you saw their entire shelf of chopped-up dolls.
So what do you reckon? Creepy or cute?

creepy
ReplyDeleteNot too sure about the kids you went to school with Jane!
ReplyDeleteMind you, I don't find it cute or creepy, just kind of...funny. What does that say?
I find it a bit alarming, I have to say - but then I still have a very firm attachment to whole bears!
ReplyDeleteCute! It's like the teddy bear decided to wear the lampshade as a hat. Teddy bears are silly.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I find it a bit creepy. But then I'm not into soft toys anyway!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Alex on this one, I think.
ReplyDelete"Ooooh, I'm a Teddy Bear, aren't I cute? I wonder what's in this lampshade? I'll find out!"
Or something.
Not necessarily creepy, but very strange! Not keen, i'm sorry to say.
ReplyDeleteCreepy. Very, very creepy.
ReplyDeleteDo you think the little guy would catch on fire?
ReplyDeleteGees. That was my immediate reaction. I am now officially my mother.
This looks like a teddy bear execution.
ReplyDeleteNah, it looks like teddy bear suicide to me. For £80 - creepy, definitely.
ReplyDeleteis there a bunny one? Perfect present for Andy 'Bunny Suicides' Riley ...
ReplyDelete100% Creepy! and for £80? I would rather stick with one of the plugs you used to get that used to glow... wonder if you can still get them lol.
