Interesting Intarsia

I've always had a bit of a thing about intarsia knitwear. I even like saying 'intarsia'. It's a fancy word. It's a knitting technique that means you get multi-coloured patterns. And often, those patterns are very very cute. It's a bit like something my mum would have put me in as a kid (and I'd have hated at the time), but I think that's why I like it.

This deer jumper is my favourite. I found it in Joy at the weekend and I've been thinking about going back to buy it ever since. It's £39, it's got pointless buttons and it's so very cute (so is this duck jumper dress too, which Alex S snapped up at the weekend after spotting it on About Your Dress). Can I have pointless buttons on everything please? Pointless buttons are the best.

  1. My mum knitted me a jumper like that when I was small - exactly the same colour but it had an OWL on the front.

  2. Thing is, when my mum put me in stuff like this, I wanted to be wearing really really cool stuff - she was a couple of years too late!

I wonder if she'd knit me one of these now...

  3. It would be cute...if the deer didn't look as though it's about to savage someone. Evil face!
