Shoe Porn: Paul Smith Paulette Pumps

When I broke my foot last year, I finally had to embrace the flat ballet pump. Now, I'm thrilled about this. I don't feel under-dressed in them anymore (not that you'll get me wearing them for a special night out), and I live in them whilst I'm running around London. Great that they're cheaper too.

But they could stand to be a little prettier. Pretty ballet pumps are so hard to find. Mock-croc? Easy? Different colours? Simple. But unique and pretty? Damn hard. Until I had a proper look at the Paul Smith website anyway. These 'Paulette' pumps are fantastic. Absolutely full of 'where did you buy those envy'. I love the marble fabric pattern, and the flower detail is simple, without being boring.

OK, so they're £155, but they're leather (goat's leather, strangely) and if you take care of them and don't jump in puddles they'll last for years. I might even be tempted to wear them out of an evening. I think that's called progress, and my feet will thank me for it.
