A Christmas Ballerina
I'm not really a fan of the ballet. I've tried, but I just don't get it. That said, I could twirl about like that, I'd be very happy (two years of dance lessons and I still can't pirouette properly). But that doesn't mean that I don't think the outfits are darn cute though. And there's something Christmassy about all that tulle and white and silver, isn't there?
Which means they're perfect for decorating your Christmas tree. These little ballerina decorations are from Debenhams and they're £2.75 each. That's a glittery, pretty little bargain. You can buy them in gold and blue as well, but I think the silver ones are perfect.
I'm definitely not going to try and pirouette around my Christmas tree. That will only end badly.
I bought the silver ballet dancer last year and liked it so much it's hung from my kitchen window all year!
ReplyDeleteHey Siany, the secret of a good pirouette is all in the supporting leg! Push straight up onto the releve to keep your line and whip the working leg in to turn. Keep the first arm placed for balance, and let the second arm help your rotation. And don't forget to spot!
ReplyDeleteI got a rather lovely ballerina tree decrpation from the Royal Opera House gift shop a couple of years ago - wonder if they still do them?
