Blogs we love: Matilde Heart Manech

As much as I love craft blogs, I'm not super crafty. Sure, I can whip up a fancy necklace or three but that's about it. I'm not a knitter. And I'm certainly not one of those crochet types. I get inspired by crafts but well, I'm just not that good at them. And as Alex S has told me before, crafts are much better when you can eat them. She might have a point.

But I still enjoy craft blogs, and I'm inspired by bloggers who do it much better than me (What Katie Does is a perfect example). I discovered Matilde Heart Manech a few months ago and I've been smitten ever since. One of the few blogs I let stack up towards the end of the week so I can have some Saturday morning time with a cuppa and my RSS feed (that sounds geeky, but it's terribly fun).

The blog is about everything really. Homewares, vintage, crafty things and a good ol' bit of design stuff that I'm mad that I didn't find first. It's hugely inspiring, and a really fun blog to read. Lisa is excellent at making and rummaging. She's got a shop launching later month, but before that goes live, hop over and say hello.

  2. 'Certainly not one of those crochet types' - this comes across as very dismissive.

  3. Not meant to, Roisin. I'm actually a bit in awe of anyone who can do any kind of crafty thing with wool and thread - I'm all fingers and thumbs

  4. I love the name of this blog - it’s from “A Very Long Engagement” with Audrey Tatou. Mathilde aime Manech = MMM. He carves it into trees and such. Heart pang.
