Cute or Creepy? Baby Jelly Mould

I'll level with you, I'm not the biggest baby fan. It's not that I don't like them, more that I don't know what to do with them. Clucky and broody I am not.

But I do like Jelly Babies. I like biting their teeny little green heads off. My first memory is actually of stealing my mum's jelly babies when I was about two. I was a confectionery thief from a very early age. But I like things the right size. Jelly Babies are little, and they come in packets with a comedy Licorice Allsort waving at you.

But baby jelly moulds? I'm creeped out. This guys is 25.5cm long, and 7.5cm high. That's massive! And I love me a cool jelly mould, I do. Give me green jelly bunnies, even glow in the dark jelly if you like (actually, that's got gin in it, definitely give me that). Just please, please don't make my jelly and ice cream baby-shaped.

But what do you guys think? He's £7.95 from Prezzybox and available for pre-order before his arrival in March. Think this li'l guy is cute? Perfect for a baby shower? Let me know in the comments below. In the meantime, I'll pop to the shop for some little Jelly Babies.

  1. I think the bulbous eyes and belly button makes it slightly unnerving though I love the idea!

On a creepy mould front, I saw these at the weekend in Jane Asher's marvellous Sugarcraft shop and was very creeped out by them:

I can think of no possible use for these. EVER.

  2. Not so sure about the Jelly mould, but I did see a genuine giant Jelly Baby for sale on a few sites last year. Sure, it would get sticky and fluffy and kind of icky pretty fast, but it would be so much fun for that first day!

  3. Oooh, baby shower, there's an idea! I have one if a few week's time and the mum-to-be is notorious for loving bad taste on principal (and she also makes awesome alcholic jelly :o)
