Cast your mind back and you may remember those tea cup lamps from Original BTC. Shaped like pieces of your favourite tea set, they were glamorous and witty and also, very sadly, slightly too pricey for the likes of me. Luckily Habitat's latest collection includes a lamp also inspired by one of my favourite British rituals that's more suited to the average Brit's budget.
While the Fifi looks like a very pretty piece of tableware, it's in fact a lamp. It's much prettier piece than I normally associate with Habitat - made from glazed ceramic, it gently glows once switched on, in fact echoing my satisfied expression following a good cup of tea. While sadly it doesn't actually provide you with a hot drink, it's really rather magical. I like the idea of sitting this on my bedside table as the perfect accompaniment to a good bedtime read. And, even better, it's just £30. Quirky, affordable lighting and it's as easy to obtain as flicking that light switch when it's time to finally go to sleep.
We went to Habitat to buy lamps this weekend and while I wanted this one, minimalist serious academic boyfriend looked so horrified we just bought normal looking desk lamps instead :(
ReplyDeleteI love it! I want it! It'd look so perfect in my flat!
ReplyDeleteNope. Don't like this one little bit. Bit too twee even for me.
ReplyDeleteThe twee factor is high, I must agree. But I think everyone needs a bit of twee in their life from time to time!
