Design Porn: Brabantia Get Together Cake Stand

I've been trying to become a more savvy shopper recently. It's not about fashion, but about style. I've started reprimanding myself as I'm about to buy some inappropriate neon jumpsuit in the sale, and instead switched to investing in sensible macs and classics in black.

When it comes to cake stands, minimalism isn't usually the first thing that springs to my mind. They're usually a little bit frou-frou, a little bit vintage chic, a little bit OTT.

But these glossy lovelies from Brabantia's brand spanking new Get Together range are a little bit more sophisticated than that. Although they do look like cartoon mushrooms, they're lovely and simple. Perfect for letting a cake take centre stage.

The new me loves the white version - it's timeless and goes with anything. And if I really can't stop myself, I'll drape some fairy lights over it and strew it with glittery cupcakes.
