Cocktail Hour: The Oscar Wilder

I didn't actually come up with this cocktail. I just drank it, and decided that it was too good not to create my own the next day. The fancy London restaurant Roast are the guys behind this tipple.

We popped in on Sunday and full marks to them hiding their shock at our bedraggled selves post-5k Race for Life run. We were sweaty, it had been raining, we were still in shorts and trainers. Despite us looking very unpretty, we were sat at the bar without question and spent two hours trying the exciting sounding tipples. While the British Girl Martini wasn't a success, the Oscar Wilder was the tastiest cocktail we had that afternoon, and it's put Roast firmly oon the Sluttery map of London.

You'll need:
  • Fresh strawberries
  • 25ml vodka
  • Prosecco
Shake it!

Mush up the strawberries into a puree (blitz them in a food processor if you're making lots, you'll need about 15ml of puree for each one) and shake with the vodka. Strain your boozy puree mix into a champagne flute and top up with bubbly. It's like a strawberry bellini, but a billion times better.

  1. It really really is. One of my recent favourite tipples. I think it might work with other fruit too.
