I spotted Abigail Brown's birdy wares over on The Make Lounge's blog (have you booked a course there? Do that, they're excellent). Abigail makes gorgeous bird creations from scraps of fabric.
I thought this was an Osytercatcher, apparently it's a black winged stilt. I like his funny legs.
Blue tits are very cute. There's one in the garden of Sluttery HQ. But there's also a cat lurking, I don't think this will end well.
This pheasant is amazing.
But not nearly as gorgeous as this peacock.
Maybe a flamingo for the hallway?
The birds aren't cheap (cheap). These start at £182 and go all the way up to £400. But they're so beautiful, and so much work goes into them. They're hand-sewn and no two pieces are ever the same, and as they're specially commissioned, Abigail could use material from items you love, giving them a new life, with added wings.
Amazing! I was recommended her a while back as she is a friend of a friend...I've been swooning quite a lot over her stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow! Wish I could afford the flamingo. It's stunning. Ooh you could have a swan made from your wedding dress! (After the wedding day of course. Not suggesting anyone does a Bjork.)
ReplyDeleteI never knew I needed* a flamingo until now.
ReplyDelete*wanted with a fierce passion
I'm still more excited about the long-leggedy bird. Mainly because I can say things like long-leggedy.
ReplyDeleteThe pheasant is amazing ... not sure our resident pheasant (Rocky) would be impressed, though :)
