Sluttery Travels: Roulotte Retreats, Scotland

First I discovered the Devanna Roulotte on Canopy & Stars, and then I realised that this gorgeous little caravan isn't alone in a field. There are four roulottes as part of the Roulotte Retreats, with a fifth due to arrive in Scotland later this year.

And what exactly is a roulotte? Apparently these little caravans have been built in France and Holland, based on Indian and Oriental designs. And you know what? They're gorgeous.

Each little roulotte sits in a meadow on the Scottish borders by the River Tweed, and you're surrounded by wildlife. There's a lake for swimming too.

Isn't it pretty? Not bad for £90 a night.

And the details of each caravan are stunning. More things should be bright blue. The caravans are decorated with peacock feathers and lingerie lace.

The caravans are self-catering, and absolutely perfect for little romantic getaways (they don't allow pets or children). All I need to do now is convince someone to take me here.

  1. It looks like a little Gyspsy caravan- reminds me of reading The Diddakoi as a kid :)

  2. I'm not the only one who read this as "Roulette Retreats" and imagined you had to place a bet to decide whether you won a holiday or not, am I? Am I?

  3. Yeah. You have to imagine it in a sexy French accent, then it's fine.

But someone SHOULD invent a roulette holiday wheel.
