Farmers markets are such a good way of finding independent food producers, and making sure you're eating the good stuff. But if you don't have a decent one near you, what can you do? Well, there's the Virtual Farmers Market, and I'm so excited about it.
Virtual Farmers Market is like a step up from Abel & Cole. They source all the very best foodstuffs from across the country, you put your order in and then in a few days they're sending their stuff out to you. You can also watch videos with the farmers and producers so you learn more about who is producing your food.
The producers I'm most excited about? Tom's Pies (pictured) look excellent, the breakfast boxes for two seem like a great idea and I really really want to try the blueberry gin. The food is more expensive than supermarkets, but you're getting what you pay for.
Delivery across the country is a flat £6, and there's no minimum order value (it's free if you spend over £100). This is a great way of discovering new food, trying tasty things and supporting independent businesses at the same. I can't wait to try it.
I can confirm that Tom's Pie are pretty special ...
