Design Porn: Yas-Ming Ceramics

Moo, Rawr, Baa, Nay, Oink: Not only the noises that come from some of my favourite four legged friends but also the names of the products from my new favourite ceramics makers, Yas-Ming. And they're worth making some noise about. Makers Ming Wai Sun and Yasmin Dilekkaya have produced a marvellous menagerie of kitchenwares taking the animal world as inspiration.

With their white glaze finish and animal theme, they remind me a bit of the Hidden Animal teacups. No sitting coyly waiting at the bottom of a teacup for these little fellows though, these beasts have their heads, and sometime their bottoms too, brazenly on show.

Baa and Moo are cups. Each has a different animal head that protrudes from the otherwise plain cup side. Or, in the case of a sheep, monkey or like the piggy shown above, you can have a protruding bottom instead. Trust me, it's sweeter than it sounds. Baa mugs are £15 each, or the larger Moo mugs are £18.

I'd say yay, rather than Nay to this set of chopsticks and animal stands. £28 buys you four.

Rawr are bowls, each decorated with the head and bum of an animal. Make your cornflakes that bit more exotic with a rhino, tiger or monkey. Or play it traditional and stick to a cow. They're £24 each and (I've used this pun before and try and stop me using it again) they're rawrsome.

An Oink bowl can be used for your dipping sauce or to serve up some snacks. For £15 you get the bonus of an animal being the centrepiece of your dish.

Want to ram a few olives down your throat? Don't mind if I do...
