It's friggin' freezing. I miss summer. I miss sunshine. I don't even remember what ice cream vans sound like. The novelty of winter lasted as long as the snow on Saturday. I need sun and summer and I need it now. Oh, and I have no money for the Bahamas so I need to bring summer to the UK. (Next week I'm asking for the moon on a stick.)
Luckily, there's a little secret in Kent. They're hiding summer from all of us. The Beach Sun Retreat is as sunny as it sounds. It's a gorgeous beach house, utterly gorgeous. But the beach house isn't what I'm excited about. It's their real life sun room that I've got my eye on.
The room safely simulates 30 degree sunshine at the flick of a switch. It could be lashing it down outside. You could come in from one beach and then a minute later be on your inside beach. You get to say things like 'inside beach'. You can definitely drink pina coladas and wear your biggest shades.
They haven't just gone to town on the sun room and left the rest of the house. This is one swanky beach house. Here's how to do gold touches without going overboard.
See? It's pretty.
And if you were in any doubt about what the outside beach looks like, well that's pretty lovely too.
I am a huge fan of the beach at winter (it's blustery and moody and somehow still very pretty), but I love that this beach house has the very best of both. It sleeps six and it's £1200 a week. That's about £38 per person per night. A pretty small price to pay for an inside beach and your own secret sunshine.
