The Boy and his Poison: The Stonewall

This continued 'drought' is doing nothing for my health. Grey skies and bi-directional rain on Saturday meant I decided to sack-off any aspirational weekend plans and console myself with gluttony and liquor. This was helped largely by #ribstock, a one day festival dedicated to hedonism, good booze and establishing who cooks the best ribs in the country.

After gnawing my final rib and putting up the umbrella for the fifteenth time that day, I concluded there was one cocktail from the menu that was so delicious it warranted recording (Memento style) all over my hand and wrist with a sharpie. The Stonewall shares a few of the flavours from Friday's drink, the mixture of bourbon and cloudy apple juice make this a different cocktail altogether… so much so that I may have ended up buying all the ingredients on the way home and 'may' have then ended up mixing them until the rain stopped at about 2am.

You'll need
  • 50ml Bourbon
  • 50ml cloudy apple juice
  • 25ml lime
  • Ginger beer (a small bottle of fevertree is perfect)
Make it
  • Pour the bourbon, lime, and apple juice into a tall ice filled glass
  • Stir for 10 seconds
  • Top up with the ginger beer

  2. Nope, have no fear you don't have to drink it out of a plastic cup, but I'd recommend a taller glass than a coupe or martini because you something large enough to hold a fair bit of ice. http://goo.gl/gX8ZP woud be a good choice.
