Shop in the Spotlight: Unique and Unity

Internet shopping is supposed to make life easier but something there's just Too Much Stuff, and you find yourself lost in a maze of web links (hint: our A To Z Domestic Directory is very good for those moments of panic). Sometimes it's easier to let someone do the searching for you. That's why I've given Unique and Unity Shop in the Spotlight status. I could click here and be able to find a wonderful gift for a female friend, mum, aunt or gran. The shop brings together massive brands, like Orla Kiely and Jonathan Adler, with some of Domestic Sluttery's favourite independent designers like Ali Miller and Darling Clementine. And, most importantly, they stock an awful lot of pretty, whether it's on smellies, stationery or sticking tape.

Those lovely egg salt and pepper pots at the top of the post and the peacock measuring spoons above both come care of Bliss In The Woods, a range as wonderfully twee as its name suggest, full of owls and birdies and bunnies. The eggs are £30 and the spoons are £15.

More cute comes courtesy of their range of porcelain products by Shan Valla. This is a ceramic glass bottle complete with a finch bottle stopper, surely the prettiest way to store your liquids. It's slightly pricier at £48 but really rather lovely.

We've written about Bluebell Grey's cushions before: pricey but oh-so-swoonsome. A more affordable way to buy their style is through their range of make-up bags which are stocked at Unique and Utility. The one above is £25, perfect for English roses.

This Da Terra plate would brighten up a dull lunchtime. It's part of a wide and colourful range available through the site, so you could have colourful breakfast, tea and dinner times too. Prices start at £13 for a mug, while the plate is £16.

Unique and Unity is packed full of things I want: I think it's going to become a favourite shopping spot for gifts - both for other people and myself, naturally.
