Design Porn: Danlamp Filament Bulbs

A couple of weeks ago, I found myself in Barts in West London. It's a strange little cocktail bar. For a start it's in a block of serviced apartments. It also has Mickey Mouse wallpaper and a little sliding peephole so the waiters can see who you are before they let you in. It's pretty cute (if you stick to the classic cocktails, everything else tasted like Innocent smoothies).

Barts is all about dark corners and little booths and all over the place are these little filament lightbulbs by Danish lighting company Danlamp. I love them. They won't give off much light, but they're not meant to, they're ideal for mood lighting. They're so interesting close up, it's not often that the inside of a lightbulb gets treated to some snazzy Danish design.

There are four or five designs to choose from, with prices starting at £7.95 from 95% Danish. If you want to make your lighting a little more interesting without heading down the chandelier route, then filament bulbs are an excellent choice.
