Dream Dress: Topshop China Dress
Instant walking China. That's not something I thought I'd want from a dress, but when Gemma tweeted about this Topshop China Dress, I realised that I actually do want to dress up like like blue and white plates.
Or maybe pink and white plates.
Or green and white plates. Actually, I'd really like neon green toile designs on plates. Someone please make that.
I don't own anything with cutout shoulders, but I don't think I actively avoid them either. They work with this dress. Actually, without them I think the dress would be more twee than a box of hipster kittens. The dress is unusual without being over the top, and it's only £40. I definitely like the idea of dressing up as a China cabinet.
I'm going to end up buying this, aren't I? I can't stop thinking about it even though someone in the office already has it.
ReplyDeleteNow...pink or blue?
I prefer the blue, I think if you're going to dress like a China pattern, you should do it properly.
DeleteI love the print but it's the cut-out that I don't like. Saying that, I think it would look much nicer on. I'd go for the blue and white :)
ReplyDeleteYes, this is where Topshop's website really falls down in comparison to others. I think it would look excellent on but it's taken me a while to get my head around the cutouts.
DeleteLove it! I did spot this the other day, the blue and white is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI just can't with cut-out shoulder arm things. I keep thinking I can but then I see someone wearing something that has them and I just think they've put their clothes on wrong.
ReplyDeleteWhich is sad as the pattern and the rest of the dress is very lovely.
Both Joules and Monsoon have blue and white china pattern dresses in their sales at the moment. Joules' design has a gorgeous chunky zip on the back and also comes in pink. Without the cut-out shoulders, which I too find slightly odd...
