Shop in the Spotlight: Champagne & Lemonade

Designer clothing exchanges can be hit and miss. For every one that's fantastic, like Wardrobe Mistress, there are two more that feel a little like the bitchy one from Made In Chelsea is having a clear out and pretending to play business woman. Which is fine if you want lots of trashy Roberto Cavalli dresses in tiny sample sizes.

Champagne & Lemonade actually do a really good job of avoiding the 'posh girl with a website' trap and instead have a gorgeous mix of designer pieces that I want. And even some that I can get over my ass.

This silk Christian Dior top is so gorgeous. The drapes are stunning, and I love the little covered buttons down the side. I adore covered buttons. It's in a medium (around a 12, but I'm guessing a small one) and holy brilliant bargains, Batman! It's £125.

A little black Marc by Marc Jacobs dress for £65? Oh, go on then.

My shoe collection has no Chanel in it. For £165 is could do. I'm rubbish at reheeling so perhaps it's a good thing that these are a 5 and will go to someone else.

How beautiful is this silk Temperely top? It also looks to be in great condition and it's £75 rather than the £17 billion it probably cost when it was new.

There's still a bit of a swanky jumble sale feeling to Champagne & Lemonade. Some of it's too expensive, some of it's the wrong size and some pieces are just damn ugly. But the site is laid out so it's fun searching for the good stuff. I'm going to have serious thoughts about that Dior top this afternoon.

  1. Awesome shop! Love that it's all so mixed and varied. Much nicer than trawling through EBay!
