Brighton POD T-Rex Lamp

It's not easy to get a T-Rex into Sussex week. The South Downs isn't crawling with animals from the Jurassic era. Which is a shame, because that would be brilliant.

But you can buy this wonderful T-Rex lamp from Brighton POD and that's reason enough for me. It's actually by a company called Moedik and not only does Mr Rex light up, but he's got a little bit of prehistoric self-assembly going on as well. If there's one thing I want to be doing right now it's putting together a MASSIVE flat pack T-Rex. He's a metre high, which makes him more than a little ridiculous because he still can't pick anything up with his silly little arms.

T-Rex is £60 and I really want to give one a home. Or two, so I can have giant T-Rex fights in my living room.

Actually, Sussex is dinosaur ground zero. The first dinosaur fossils ever discovered (and recognised as such) were from Sussex - Whiteman's Green, a few miles west of Hayward's Heath, is where Gideon Mantell found the first Iguanodon teeth in 1822, which was basically the beginning of all dinosaur studies ever. Also, Hastings is still a good place to go if you want to find nuff Iguanodons. And sometimes things that aren't Iguanodons.

Basically what I am saying is Sussex is Jurassic Park only with slightly less Jeff Goldblum.

    1. In my head there is a family of dinosaurs playing in Bognor on the beach.

      I think Pterodactyls prefer Eastbourne.
