Geek Chic: Comic Strip Style

Kaboom Collar, £10, Fox Parse
So, I’ve been on Team Sluttery for a few weeks now, and I feel the time has come to answer the question you’ve all doubtless been dying to ask:

Am I the Laura Brown, ex-girlfriend of Nick Fury? Laura Brown, Agent of SHIELD? Laura Brown, kind of a big deal* in comic books?

I think the photos speak for themselves. I've changed a bit since those heady days cavorting with Nick, but I don’t think there’s any point trying to deny it. Bless you all for not mentioning it until now.

My pals in the Marvel Universe inform me that comic book chic is in this season. For me, it’s never been out. And as one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject, just behind She-Ra and Wonder Woman (You should see us when we all get together with Sue Storm. It’s like an alt-universe Sex & The City. Wo-Wo always wants to be Samantha), it’s my duty to share with you my pick of superheroine style.

Kapow Collar, £10, Fox Parse
These Peter Pan-style collars are just the thing for a special agent on indefinite hiatus. They're only a tenner from Fox Parse's Etsy store, and postage is £4. They have to come all the way from Australia, but they're worth the wait.

Blammo Headband, £15, Janine Basil
BLAMMO. New favourite word alert! I've had my beady eye on Janine Basil's brilliant comic sound effects headbands for a very long time. The problem is, I just can't decide which one to buy...

Pow Headband, £15, Janine Basil
She's been sure to include all the important comic book parlance - KAPOW! PEW PEW! ZING! ZAP... oops, I'm getting carried away - and there are lots of different colourways, too. Some of them even glow in the dark! If you're less indecisive than me and actually manage to choose which one you'd like to buy, you'll be delighted to hear that most of the headbands are £15, plus £2 for delivery.

Models Own WAH Nail Transfers, £7, ASOS
I reckon with these Models Own nail transfers adorning my fingertips, I'll be able to type faster than the speed of light! Without making any mistakes! It'll be my superhero power! I'll finally make my comic book comeback! Let's put it to the test:

Yeah, so it turns out light's pretty fast, and I couldn't keep up. I just need practice, that's all. Even Spidey had to practise. Shurrup. Go and buy them for £7 from ASOS and see if you can do any better.

* What do you mean, you've never heard of me? I saved Nick Fury's LIFE, for crying out loud.
