Here's a list of reasons why Ruby Tuesdays is completely brilliant: Ruby's cupcakes are available in vegan, gluten free and sugar free varieties. They're tasty and affordable. And even on a freezing cold Sunday afternoon in Greenwich Market, Ruby had a huge smile on her face.
Colour me impressed.
A couple of people have mentioned Ruby Tuesdays recently and a little bit of fate found me trying them this weekend (I say fate, I actually mean 'standing by the food stalls in the market because I'd forgotten my gloves and it was really warm there'). Ruby Tuesdays was launched after Ruby realised that there weren't many cake options for specific diets. She's vegan, so she decided to make her own. Her enthusiasm for good cake is clear and now she offers several options for specific diets. And goodness me Ruby makes a brilliant cake.
I tried a raspberry and chocolate cupcake and I honestly couldn't tell you what was in it except magic. I'm always impressed when I can't tell if a cake if vegan or gluten free. There's often something different about the sponge. Not in this case. And the pinky purply frosting tasted fantastic - no nasty fake flavourings here, thank you very much.
Cupcakes start at £2.40, large cakes start at £35 and they can be delivered to London addresses or picked up from Greenwich market. I want to try every single cake on the menu.
