Design Porn: Rene Walrus

There's something so magical about Rene Walrus' headdresses. Like this beautiful ethereal lady just landed on a beach in winter while wearing fabulous jewellery. Happens all the time in Scotland. Probably.

Rene Walrus' make all of their pieces by hand - working with jewels and tiny Swarovski crystals to create one off pieces. The headdresses might follow the same designs but no two pieces will be the same. And you're very unlikely to turn up to a party with someone wearing the same thing.

They're perfect for today's Burns Night posts - they've even got a little shop in Edinburgh. Let's wear one of these Rajastan headdresses while eating a Scotch pie.

There's definitely a wedding vibe to Rene Walrus (and founder Janet does a huge amount of weddings), especially when it comes to the white pieces. But actually, I think the rest are just perfect for dressing up in. Got a fancy ball or party to go to? Then they're perfect.

Prices for the headdresses aren't cheap - they start around £200 and go up to double that (they also offer even more special bespoke options). Don't be put off by the hefty price tag, Rene Walrus also have a collection of jewellery that's much more affordable, a lot of it coming in under £100. Let's all go and prance around on a cold beach in our best jewellery!

  1. Absolutely stunning! I love elaborate designs like this but I would never have the serenity to wear one. Maybe I should get married... ;-)
