Postcards with Pizzazz

Maybe you haven't sent your thank you cards from Christmas yet, maybe your resolution is to keep in touch with those you love, or maybe - like me - you just enjoy sending people daft things to make them laugh.

Everyone likes receiving a postcard (there's nothing I'd rather stick to my fridge) and choosing new ones to send to my silliest of friends has become a slightly giddying obsession of mine lately.

Take this 'Nice Person Lives Here' postcard from Our Workshop. This will not only make the recipient laugh, it'll probably give the postman a chuckle too. In fact, he might even take notice of the card and strike up an unlikely but heart-warming friendship with the occupant of the hou-OH MY GOD IT COULD BE A MOVIE. It's £3.50 for a set of two.

Probably less likely to be a movie, but still jolly fantastic is this 'If I were a dog, I'd sniff your bum' postcard from Polar on Etsy. You should check our their entire range (they will give you many of the lols) but this is the one I shall use. I may even send it to an actual dog. It's a hugely reasonable £1, with 95p postage.

"Hello!" says this colourful little Dala horse postcard from seventrytree on Etsy. How could you ignore him? Maybe you'll get another dala back saying something else. That would be marvellous! Or maybe someone will be kind enough to send you seventytree's bilingual animals postcard which I am also totally mad about. They're both £1.50 with £1 postage.

Lastly, I'd like to introduce you to Showler and Showler. Their range of postcards is so colourful they probably glow in the dark, and I love every single one of them. I honestly took ages choosing which one to show you, but in the end I couldn't resist the lure of Mr Penguin being transported by a bunch of balloons. A single card is £1.25, but they also do a pack of 6 for £3.75 or 12 for £6.50.

Postcards are brilliant - the sillier the better.

  1. Zang! Just bought the bilingual animals postcard. No sense trying to resist something that adorable.
