Treats for a Tenner (and under!)

It's only half way through the month and pay day is already beginning to look like a distant memory. Worse still is that it's not even half way through the week, and the brilliant bargains of Sluttery Sales Spy are still far into the future. So, for fellow sufferers, I've tried to dig out cheap thrills - things you can afford to buy without having to live on beans and toast for the next few weeks. Everything is a tenner, OR LESS! Like the cake stand from H&M above. It's yours for just £6.99 and is a very pretty option while you save up for one of those gorgeous jadeite stands.

While I might not be able to afford their cake stands, I can afford the charming range of notebooks stocked by The HambledonDots or stars, scallops or flowers - they've got something for every kind of pattern enthusiasm, and for only £6.95 each.

Scallops and glitter? I'm powerless in front of this grey glitter scallop clutch from Dorothy Perkins, especially as it's now reduced to only £8 in the sale. You'd need to hold on tight to this one as it really is a steal.

Scallops clearly come cheap, as this scalloped oval picture frame from Urban Outfitters is also extremely reasonable. In fact, it's bang on the money priced at exactly £10.

Lisa Levis (the designer originally behind Lisa Stickley) launched Betty and Walter last year, a fab range of retro-pattern bags, purses and homewares. This colourful cotton Tulips tea towel can brighten up your Tuesday and the rest of your week, and hopefully a bit longer too, for only £8. Meaning there's change left up to treat yourself to some nice biscuits too.
