Design Porn: Surprise Surprise Lamp

Nope, it's not a lamp made out of Cilla Black's face. It's even better than that...

It's a giant silver bow lamp! I wholeheartedly love those little shiny stick-on present bows - I know there are fancier, flouncier adornments to be had, but I will not be swayed. So my face lit up (see what I did there?) when I saw this Surprise Surprise lamp, designed by Stephen Johnson, on Rockett St George. Let's have a look at it all aglow:

Fabulous. My only niggle is the white cable, but I suppose against my white walls it won't look so conspicuous (can you tell I've picked out a spot for it already?).

There's a white version, too, which I think looks brilliant lit up, especially against that grey wall (although, still feeling upset by the cable).

I'm not so sure about it unlit, though - the silver one is just so much more gaudily spectacular. I think it's very Jeff Koons-esque, which can only be a good thing in my book.

If you want one of these as much as I do (achingly so), they're £149. So, a little bit pricey, but not bad for a lamp that'll make you smile like it's your birthday and Christmas rolled into one EVERY DAY.
