Book Porn: Litograph T-Shirts

Remember Spineless Classics? Those gorgeous prints that fit in the text of an entire novel onto a beautiful art print? Good, your memory hasn't entirely turned to mush then. Keep up the brain work, lady, it's working for you!

Well - hnnrgh - you can - *stuffs fist in mouth* - get the same idea - *slightly chokes on fist* - with Litograph's amazing T-shirts. Oh God they are just SO BEAUTIFUL. Also, there are loads of them. I sat there are counted how many there were, then gave up after 93 when doing my three-times-table over and over again was giving me a headache.

Each T-shirt carries the entire text of your chosen book along with gorgeous designs by a bunch of ridic clever artists. I picked out a few of my favourites, then realised the post would still be eight miles long, so please go and have a good old perve on the website, because - just - yeswow. That Tess of the D'Urbevilles one at the top is more Wuthering Heights than the WH one, which is ... fine. Love it. Shame I never got on with Hardy. Damn you Hardy.

Some of the designs cover front and back - this one, The Christmas Carol, was Sian's favourite. Don't like the colour? Simples. You can pick it in a variety of different colourways.

Teodora Rogoz's design for Sense and Sensibility is just luscious. That expression could be sorrow, could be "'Scuse me and what?"

Pinocchio! I die. There are strings up the back, too.

Oh God, now I just remembered a Gilmore Girls episode of a similar name and I need to urgently run back to my television and do nothing for the next seven to eight weeks.

I re-read A Little Princess when my Dad gave me his Kindle a couple of years back - it really is still absolutely superb. This design is heartbreaking. It's the time before "The Magic" comes to her horrible little garret, with little Melchisedec on the back (a name which, according to Google, I am by no means the only person who can't spell).

HAPPY ENDING KATHERINE. Breathe. Oh God, breathe, your keyboard will explode if you cry on it.

Hey! Carrots!

Oh thank GOD, now instead of worrying about the fact I don't worry about the fact I've not read War and Peace, I can wear it instead. Absolutely no idea what's going on here. Not a clue. But by gum I like S.V. Stegloff's design (and what a perfect name to illustrate Tolstory. I hope Stegloff has a beard, a hat and a tortured expression.)

Rachelle Meyer has done a lot of design's for Litograph, and this one, for A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, by James Joyce (filed under Tolstory, apolz) is utterly enchanting. I quite look forward to going on Wikipedia to find out what the book is about.

Oh aren't I HORRIBLE.

Each Litograph t-shirt is made to order. I like to think that means they type the book on it as you go, but unfortunately I like to think a lot of things that aren't true.

They come in sizes S to 3XL and several colourways individual to that T-shirt. They're $34 each, and postage from the States is $14.99. All in, that equates to just over £30 a T-shirt. FIT. LIT. CLOTHES!

Mad props to Jules Mattsson for the heads up!
