Old-fashioned cooking from Labour and Wait
This books looks exciting! It's a lovely looking old-fashioned thing and it's just £9.50 from Labour and Wait. Sure, you might not actually use any of the recipes in it, but cookery books like this are a great way to get that vintage farmhouse feel into a kitchen without trying too hard.
It's a bit Mrs Beeton, without doing any of the work. Making my own pastry just seems like waaaaaay too much effort. I'll flick through this while I'm waiting for my toast to cook. It was written by the Royal chef to Queen Victoria. If it's good enough for Queen V...
