You either love or hate ostentatiously etched Venetian mirrors. I think they're gorgeous, and after seeing House actress Olivia Wilde's amazing use of them in her LA pad, I've been desperate to reproduce the look.
The mirrors vary wildly in price, but the modern reproductions look just as good as the real thing. Wilde actually flankss her vintage dresser with two drawer units from Anthropologie. For a budget option, I've got my eye on this 3 piece mirror. It's down to £35 in the sale at Past Times and turns a boring chest of drawers into a stand-up dresser in one fell swoop.

I have a very similar mirror and it's great! Unfortunately I have also inherited (for inherited read 'been given by my mother who has nowhere to put them') a matching dressing table and two bedside tables. Needless to say it's a little too much so I've had to spread them through a few rooms! x
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for one of these mirrors for ages but even the reproductions are normally so expensive! This one is actually only £28 (there's an extra 20% off purchases over £20) and it's free P&P - what a bargain! I've bought one and can't wait for it to be delivered.
ReplyDeleteThank you for finding it! I'm a big fan of Domestic Sluttery x
Love when things get reduced even more after we've written about them!
ReplyDeleteYou're right though - they're not cheap. This one is a bargain!
