Christmas Gift Guide: Five gifts for under a fiver!

There. That got your attention. Prepare to be dazzled by my prezzie selection (ideal for 'stocking fillers' or 'Secret Santa gifts'), most of which will give you change for a fiver. Ooh, fancy that!

So here's where my 'glamourous fashionista' façade may slip a little: I was in Morrisons (ahem!) the other day doing a super-cheap grocery shop, when I stumbled into their actually rather amazing Home section. I found this delightful Butterfly Toile two-tier cake stand for a mere £5. Isn't it wonderful? Pop it in a Liberty bag; your recipient will be none the wiser...

Sumptuous silver sequins are *so* right at this time of year - and there's no chicer way of wearing them than a très sophisticated sequin beret; a style steal at just £5 from Matalan.

Treat someone special to this gorgeous Rose Petal Lip Balm by The Berkeley Square Cosmetic Company. With illustrations inspired by the elegant 1920s, this tin of goodness is pure eye-candy; and easy on the bank balance too at just £3.95 (or if you're feeling extravagant, there's a duo pack including the Cherry flavour for £6.95)...

Whilst we're on the subject of roses, just how cute is this rose mirror compact from the 'Flutter' range at Superdrug? With it's pale pink vintage styling, it'd look perfect in any gorgeous girl's boudoir - and what makes it even more beautiful is the £3.95 price tag.

And lastly, you know I'm fond of a cute animal-shaped soap; I blogged about a dachshund soap here recently. But who could resist this cute yellow fella? You can buy one for £4 from Cath Kidston (and you'd be 'quackers' not to, right?)

So there we have it. Who knew buying beautiful Christmas gifts could be so cheap? But in revealing my best buys, I've also now given away my identity in the Domestic Slut Secret Santa bonanza. Oh well, these gifts were too good not to share. Happy Shopping.

  7. Last week I bought that exact same cake stand from K-Mart, except the design on the plates was a little different. Top tier had a pink lacy-looking outline, bottom same but in baby blue. Only $AUD12. It's looovely, I'm going to buy two more for Christmas Day canapes. Yippee!

Quite funny how we're all obsessed by the same things... cake stand, hairdryer...

  10. Yes - I *nearly* didn't include the cake stand in my post, seeing as you can't buy it online. But! It's just too pretty not to share with you all.x
