I like tea, a lot. Not only do I love the myriad types of tea and their subtle yet distinctive flavours, but I love all the bells and whistles that go with them, too: beautiful bone china, quirky little tea strainers, teapot cosies in all different shapes and colours.
Despite all that, I'd never thought to actually wear tea until I discovered Claire Lowe's unique and delicate tea jewellery. I spotted her work at a recent craft fair in Brighton, and was instantly addicted.
Seen close-up, these tiny silver stud earrings have flecks of black tea embedded into resin. It's a technique Claire uses a lot and you can also see it in her necklaces and bracelets:
Since discovering Claire Lowe, I seem to be spotting tea-related jewellery wherever I go, and for those who like something a bit bolder and more in-your-face, these bright, tannin-charged pendants by Clutterfly really make a statement:
You can find this pendant (which costs £17.50 mounted on a silver-plated chain) along with many more rock 'n' roll pieces over at Clutterfly's shop.
On that note, I just remembered I left the kettle boiling...
Some lovely enamel tea based jewellery here too. I alwys get compliments when I were the green tea cup one! http://www.buddug.com/page8.htm
