Sluttishly Easy: Spiced Sweet Potato Chips

These are quite the crowd pleaser, and a bit of a party staple of mine. They're a little bit spicy, a little bit salty, and a little bit more healthy than standard chips. Of course, I go and ruin all that by dunking them in sour cream, but you can't have everything!

Spiced Sweet Potato Chips (serves 4-6, depending on greed levels)

You'll need:

  • 1kg sweet potato
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Make it!
  • Preheat the oven to 200c / Gas Mark 6
  • Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into chunky chips
  • Bash the coriander and fennel seeds in a pestle and mortar
  • Toss the sweet potato chips with the salt, spices and oil
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through

  2. I saw this great recipe and made them last night. I added (a bit too much) crushed dried chillis but they were very easy and delicious!

  3. Now this recipe is being bookmarked pronto - I can see the potential and the crowds will indeed be pleased.
