1) Not too alcoholic. Unsteady hands make us look like we've set the make-up gun to whore.
2) Made to be sipped from a tumbler. A glass with a solid base is less likely to fall over when I put it down somewhere inappropriate.
3) Clear liquids only. If I'm going to spill it down my frock, I don't want it to stain.
Aaaaand then a friend made me this drink at an Epiphany party and I promptly ate my list. This is so, so good.
You will need:
- Champagne (or cava or prosecco)
- Blueberry vodka
- Chambord
- Selection of berries
Pop the berries in the bottom of a champagne flute. Add a splash of blueberry vodka, a dash of Chambord and top it up with champagne.
The bubbles promise you an exciting night out, and the spirits mix beautifully to give it a lovely fruity flavour. The berries are not, repeat NOT, a replacement for dinner, no matter how little time you've got to trowel on the glitter and choose a dress. I speak from experience, and a day spent eating Frazzles and feebly calling for tea.
So that's my One While Changing - what's yours?
This would have come in VERY handy on Saturday night - I had bubbly whilst getting ready to go out and peaked early...
ReplyDeleteIt's true, she did.
ReplyDeleteSara, they're not clear liquids! I spill. BUT, it sounds tasty. Love the name.
Brilliant post! I made a variation on this last night after several cocktails, aka a One While Drunking.
ReplyDeleteSian - I know! Hence why I had to eat my list. Maybe it should be a One Before You've Got Your Nice Frock On.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit, so I didn't make a mess of my pretty frock on Saturday, I drank my bubbles in my PJs.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea. It's usually something white and light for me - either a (small!) G&T or a white wine...
ReplyDeleteSometimes, a girl needs to ask herself: what would Joan Collins do? And sometimes, the answer is: drink cocktails in your pyjamas, dammit.
ReplyDeleteSet the make-up gun to whore - rofl! Now where can I get me some Chambord?
ReplyDeleteAlison - I got some in Sainsbury's. It was only about £7 for a small bottle.
ReplyDeleteTesco have the small bottles too, looks uber pretty on your worktop too :)
ReplyDeleteLove the concept. Hang on a minute though, what's an epiphany party?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me what to go out just so i can drink this whilst getting ready!!
ReplyDeleteKate - we were celebrating Epiphany, which is when the wise men found the baby Jesus. In other words, it was an excuse to get a bit tipsy during the miserable month of January.
ReplyDeleteVeronica - that's the spirit!
More Chambord cocktails from Sara please!!
