Victoria sponge is one of the most underrated cakes. It's perfect. There's enough sweetness to make it actually feel like a cake without making you want to be sick after a slice (we can't stop this from happening if you have three pieces). We might even give you a recipe soon.

Almost every time I bake a cake I use the Victoria sandwich style model (although I generally cheat and use Delia's all-in-one mixing method!) Sooo yummy. In fact, given it's Welsh Valentines' Day today (Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen), I may just have to make one after work...
ReplyDeleteWe rarely bake a full-size cake in Sluttery HQ. Cupcakes get eaten quickly because they're little, but I do feel the need for a proper cakefest coming on.
