At the end of last month I was being all cultural popped to the
Other Art Fair on London's Southbank. I planned to tell you all about it but hadn't realised that it was only on for a few days and I totally missed the boat. But, I can tell you about one of the most interesting artists on show -
Dan Hillier.
His website is a joy to peruse. (Hello, Kindly visitor. Stay brilliant.) If you like a mix of collage, ink pen and Victoriana then you're in the right place. If you didn't know you liked those things, you probably will once you've visited. This
mad lady print is £50.
This is one of my favourites. Her name is
Luna and she's only £45.
Guys get the Hillier treatment as well. This one is a
limited edition screen print and he's £160.
I can't help but love this
'Horse' print (yes, 'horse'). It's weird, it's wonderful. It's bloody creepy is what it is. Which basically sums up Hillier's work in a nutshell.
In some ways I don't like it and other ways I do. I guess that makes it kind of good. I can't quite make up my mind.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. There are some I look at and don't like (or at least wouldn't have on my wall), but others I'm mad about. Especially the second one down.
