Top Chinese Recipes

Chinese New Year means eating brilliant food. Getting friends and family together and spending some time with the people you love.

To help you decide what you put on your menu, and save you reaching for the Chinese takeaway menu, here are some of our previous Chinese recipes to see in the year of the dragon. Some of these recipes are so simple, you can do them when you get home from work tonight.

Spicy Duck Legs: Elizabeth's latest duck recipe looks perfectly crisp.

Char siu marinade: Oh it's tasty. It's so very tasty. I can't imagine going for Chinese and not having a dish of the red stuff.

Chicken and ginger fried dumplings: Let's talk dim sum now. I'm obsessed with it. Mad about it. Especially when they're fried.

Prawn Wontons: Need something a little healthier than fried dumplings? These steamed wontons are perfect.

Chicken Noodle Soup: I've already talked about the magical powers of soup, but the noodles are important at Chinese New Year - noodles symbolise long life.

Spicy Pork Stir Fry: Totally authentic? Probably not. But still very tasty.

Spicy beef with broccoli: Our how about spicy beef instead?

Sesame toffee banana toast: Who says you only put prawns on toast? This dessert is a wonderful alternative.
