The Boy and his Poison: Cerys Myth

I've finally found a reason to love Peckham beyond that sedative effect Only Fools and Horses has after a heavy Christmas lunch. I definitely enjoyed visiting Franks Campari Bar last year, but it wasn't until I stumbled on Bar Story in the arches underneath the station, with its great atmosphere and deliciously cheap happy hour that I started to understand what everyone was going on about.

Stuck waiting for my train home I popped in hoping I'd be able to clear through a stack of negronis but when the bar tender told me about a house special called a Cerys Myth it sounded to good to resist. Starting from a negroni-esque base of Campari and gin, it then gets a Summery lift from  elderflower, lime and apple juice. By the time I'd started my second I decided I'd catch a later train.

You'll need:
  • 25ml Gin
  • 25ml Campari
  • 50ml Apple juice
  • 15ml Lime juice
  • A dash of elderflower
Make it:
  • Pour all your ingredients into an ice filled shaker
  • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds
  • Strain into a large martini glass (preferably with some crushed ice)

  1. That looks like magic. I might make one tonight in the hopes of coaxing summer out to play.

All those mentions of Cerys mean I've now got Catatonia's back catalogue playing in my brain, by the way. Not a bad thing.
