Sites we love: North 19

Sometimes I get a little blog tired, especially when it comes to food blogs. Nothing inspires, photos feel flat and my reader just isn't exciting me as much as it used to. Often, it's just a case of needing to find more food blogs to read (or pick up an actual book). I do love finding new food blogs to read and recipes to play about with.

I've never, ever become tired of North 19.

I think it was The Guardian's Dan Lepard who first alerted me to the blog with a little tweet about the gorgeous photography. Since then, I've been an avid reader. This is a seriously good food blog. It made me want to make my own yoghurt. It definitely made me want to make pork terrine. And I'm all over pig cheeks after seeing this post.

The photography is absolutely beautiful, and it draws me in for hours. This piece has taken twice as long to write because I keep stopping to read pieces I haven't spotted before. I really fancy cornbread now.

North 19 calls has a little tagline - a cook, some rambles, and an enthusiasm for eating. I think it's so much more than that. It's a joy to read, and you'll almost certainly lose the rest of your afternoon to it.

  1. Any recipe that ends with the instruction 'Drink the remaining wine' is my sort of recipe! Absolutely beautiful blog - I also suffer from food blog fatigue so I'm always on the lookout for new ones!

    1. It's gorgeous, isn't it? There's nothing fussy about the site - it's just very simple and very striking.

  2. I love the phrase "makes more terrine than you imagine you might need, but far less than you will want"

Photos that make you want to reach out and eat them!
