Quilltastic Writing Set from Berry Red

They say letter-writing is a lost artform, and indeed I don't sit at my desk and write a good old letter often enough. When I was wee I used to dream of being a Dickens character, writing away to pen-friends using my quill-shaped Biro for hours (yes, I was a dork of a kid), but I never lost the love of a good scrawl.

These days, I still don't write by hand enough, but now I think I've got an excuse: Berry Red are selling a writing set that set me all a-quiver.

You get two glass quills and six beautifully coloured inks (in shades like 'auburn', 'bordeaux' and 'sienna', no less) with which you can scribble away to your heart's content.

It recommends using them for place settings and invitations - I'm guessing that's because they're nice and short, as these don't look like the easiest of writing tools, but I'm pretty hell-bent on snapping one of these up and trying my darnedest to write some seriously lengthy and pretentious-sounding letters*.

I don't care how long it takes, I'm going to write them, and I'm going to pretend I'm Charles Dickens.

The writing set is £24.00 with £4.95 delivery - I don't think that's too much to make a geek like me very happy indeed.

* I cannot promise I won't give up after five minutes.

  1. I have a glass quill pen, and it's lovely to write with. I use it for illustrations though, rather than writing.
