Sites We Love: Penny Dreadful Vintage

You know when you are in the mood to buy a new dress? Often for no particular reason other than the need for something new and pretty and preferably swishy. That is how I feel about this 1950's striped dress from Penny Dreadful Vintage. It looks like such a special dress, one where I might like to go for pancakes and milkshake with my friends and end the night dancing to electro-swing. Of course, when  browsing vintage websites you go from one gorgeous dress to another and before you know it an hour of time has passed and you have a wish list as long as your arm.

I would like this blue 1950's dress to wear on a picnic. Yes, somewhere with a meadow and sunshine. Somewhere we can drink homemade lemonade and play badminton in our bare feet.
This amazing 1970s sequin ballet wrap-around is the perfect top for dancing. I would probably wear it with my black mini skirt for a night-out with the girls. We would sip margaritas, nibble on nachos and end the night tearing up the dance floor in a cheesy nightclub.
I think these 1970s platforms would be my perfect autumn treat. I would wear them with thick coloured tights and my favourite vintage secretary dress, all layered up with thick cardigans. We would go strolling through the park crunching on yellow and orange leaves, marvelling at how much colour there is at this time of year.
This 1930's glass bead purse is a special date-night purse. You want an event to take this one to. I would wear my light gold evening gown to match this delicate purse and sip on the fanciest champagne and cocktails. It's adorable.

Penny Dreadful Vintage stocks vintage items ranging from the 1920's right through the decades to the 1990's. The clothes range from day dresses to suits to accessories and even vintage swimwear. The prices are competitively matched to the high street ranging from £35 for the purse to £100 for the green and white dress.

  1. Penny Dreadful is one of my FAVOURITE online stores. She really knows her stuff and her stock is a (very well priced) treasure trove. It is dangerous though... my credit card has taken a bashing many a time!
